Dear MDUSD Families,
Effective April 10, 2023, if a student is chronically absent, the parent/guardian must provide medical verification for future absences to be excused. Once a student is identified as chronically absent they will be required to follow these procedures until the end of this school year.
Chronic absenteeism means that a student has missed 10 % or more of school days (to date) due to absences for any reason, excused, unexcused absences and suspensions. Absences can cause students to have difficulty learning to read by their third grade benchmark assessments, affect academic achievement in middle school, or affect student motivation to do the work required to graduate from high school.

Please call (925) 682-4861 to schedule a one-on-one tour with our principal, Mr. Wood.
If your child will be absent, please call the main office at (925) 682-4861. Spell your student's first and last name, teacher, and reason for absence.
District policy states that absences must be cleared within 72 hours after students returns to school. If no notification is received, the absence will be considered a truancy.

Student Registration 2023-2024
Registration for students who are eligible for the Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten program for the 2023-2024 school year will be done centrally by Mt. Diablo Unified School District.
The first step in the process is to complete the Aeries Online Application. See link below.
The TK/Kindergarten registration date for students who reside in the Sun Terrace Elementary attendance boundaries is:
Tuesday, March 14, 2023 and Wednesday, March 15, 2023
No appointment is necessary; drop in times are 8:30am-4:00pm. The Enrollment Center is located at:
Willow Creek Center
1026 Mohr Lane, Concord.
If you're unable to attend on either date for Sun Terrace Elementary, district wide drop in dates will be most Friday's at the Enrollment Center. (See calendar below).

Transitional Kindergarten: 9/2/2018 - 4/2/2019
Kindergarten: 9/2/2017 - 9/1/2018
